He also served on the boards of more than twenty young companies including of Academic Systems Inc., DataChannel, Inc., ELEKOM Corporation, HomeGrocer.com, Liquid Audio, Wildseed Ltd., Vision Solutions, Inc., Wildseed Ltd., XYZfind.com and Ziff-Davis Inc. and ZD-Net Inc. all of which successfully completed public offerings and/or merger transactions. Mr. Lazarus helped these companies refine their product and marketing strategies, develop strategic partnerships and expand their management teams. He also assisted them in raising new capital collectively exceeding $300 million.
Mr. Lazarus has also served as a member of the board of directors of NATPE (the international association of television programming executives), Dealer Trade Group and Rivals.com. He also served as an advisor to 800.com, Digeo Inc., iMotors.com, Replay Networks, Inc., the Universal Studios New Media Group, Xylo Inc., Ziff-Davis Television (later Tech-TV) and a consultant to the Microsoft Corporation, Vulcan Inc. and the Flipstart PC project.
Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Lazarus developed some of the leading computer-related publications including PC Magazine and PC Week for Ziff Davis Publishing Company. Earlier, he held executive positions with A.C. Nielsen and American Broadcasting Companies. Mr. Lazarus has also been awarded two U.S. patents.
A native of Philadelphia, PA., Mr. Lazarus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Temple University.
